Carmax, the nation's largest retailer of used cars, has upgraded its website again, adding a used car recommendation tool to assist visitors who may not know exactly what model of car they want. The tool translates the customer’s preferences into a rank-ordered list of recommended vehicles.

"This new tool will help online used car shoppers navigate through various vehicles so they can begin to narrow down their choices," said Ann Yauger, director of carmax.com.

The online recommendation tool was developed by the creators of MyProductAdvisor.com, a service which provides unbiased product recommendations based on individual preferences.

"Our core business was founded in the consumer automotive industry," said Dick Smallwood, CEO of Market Insight Corporation. "We are proud to enhance the selection process for CarMax shoppers."

Online shoppers can search the company's extensive inventory of new and used cars. The website showcases vehicles with multiple photos, a no-haggle price, and information on features, options, fuel economy and customer reviews. Approximately 70 percent of CarMax customers visit the website before coming to the story.
