R.Biz evaluates each press release by the following editorial criteria:
What We Like...
- Hard news based on real business events.
- News about companies with a significant business presence in the Richmond metropolitan region.
- News that has a significant impact on business activity in Richmond.
- Stories that illuminate important market trends.
- Stories that illuminate emerging market trends.
- Stories that highlight unusual innovation or creativity.
- Stories that fall into one the following subject categories:
- Mergers & Acquisitions
- Finance
- Markets
- Expansions & Relocations
- Contracts & Partnerships
- R&D
- People
- Trends
- "Other" is a catch-all where we place lawsuits, labor news, layoffs and other stories.
What We Don’t Like...
- News that has nothing to do with Richmond.
- News that has nothing to do with business, finance or the economy.
- Press releases that are indecipherable to anyone but an expert in your field. No jargon please.
- Press releases that announce obscure or incremental tweaks to existing products or services.
- Press releases that are thinly veiled marketing promotions.
- Accollades.
- Employee appointments and promotions under the senior executive level.
