About James A. Bacon

James A. Bacon, Jr., editor of R.Biz, is an award-winning journalist whose career writing about business in Virginia spans 30 years. A University of Virginia graduate, he worked business beats for newspapers in Martinsville and Roanoke before joining the start-up team of Virginia Business magazine as Editor in 1986. Rising through the ranks, he became publisher of the magazine in 1995.

In 2002, Bacon shifted careers to digital publications. In addition to publishing electronic newsletters for clients such as the Greater Richmond Partnership, he has built the Bacon’s Rebellion e-zine and blog into the leading online op-ed website in Virginia.
