In addition to the great stuff already happening this week, I have prepared a list of further fun-ducational functions for your precious few days away from your cubicle.

At Appomattox Regional Governor's School, students are putting on a production of the Bard's whimsical classic "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Throughout the production, ARGS music major Jesse Limbacher will be conducting an original score he composed. The performance begins at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights and there will also be a 2 p.m. performance on Saturday. If you miss it, it's playing next weekend, too.

On Saturday, get there at 5 p.m. and enjoy a "Fairy Delectable Dinner" of spaghetti and delicious desserts. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and those 60 and up, if the ticket is paid for in advance by November 12. At the door, tickets cost $10 for adults and $50 for students and seniors. For the 2 p.m. showing, ARGS is also pleased to announce its Pay What You Will performances as part of their Add to our Community Through Theatre (ACTT) program.

Science Saturdays at the Science Museum of Virginia presents the aptly named Supercool Day. There will be hands-on activities, demonstrations and interactive exhibits. See pennies shatter! The coolness lasts from noon to 4 p.m.

At KingPin Lanes in Midlothian, there will be a bowling event to help raise funds and awareness for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN.) The event is $25 for three games, shoe rental, a bake sale and door prizes. The festivities begin at 12:30 p.m. and end at 5:30.

On Saturday night, head over to Gallery 5 for performances by honky-tonk outfit Calpurnia as well as The Palominos and One Friend. Rock begins at 8 p.m. It's $5 to get in. Visit gallery5arts.org to learn more.

Sunday morning, the Showplace Exhibition Center presents an American Indian Pow-Wow. Over 100 tribes will represent their foods, arts, dancers and crafts. It starts at 9 a.m.
