Anyone interested in women’s history should check out the Virginia Historical Society’s latest exhibit, “A Creative Dynasty: Four Generations of Virginia.” The exhibit explores the careers of four generations of Virginia women (Julia Anne Morrison Blunt, Sallie Lee Blount Mahood, Helen Mahood McGehee, Helen McGehee Umaña) who dedicated their lives to the arts, ranging from music to painting. Fashionistas won’t want to miss Couture for a Cause, a charitable fashion show in which local Richmond based companies are pairing together to help benefit Unitus (www.unitus.com); Unitus is a non-profit organization that helps women around the world who are living in poverty.
