Joe Bomamassa at The National

Say it ain't so Joe. Well, too bad, it is so, Joe did apprentice (kind of) with guitar great Danny Gatton when he was but 12. Some say he's the best guitarist of his generation. Is that so, Joe? Tickets are $30. Showtime 8 p.m.

Thursday, October 16

Jaguares at The National

On of Mexico's most beloved rock bands, ever, Jaguares is sure to make waves in the US too, given the growth of many immigrant communities in this country. But how did they get their name? The founder dreamed he was singing in a jaguar's mouth. Tickets are $25. Showtime 8 p.m.

Friday, October 17

Dean Fields at Capital Ale House

Fields is hosting this Pre-CD Release Party. It won't be available until October 21, until then be content with seeing him live and in person while drinking some darn fine beer. 10 p.m.

Saturday, October 18

Sheryl Crow at The Siegel Center

Crow has come a long way since writing McDonald's jingles and singing backup for Michael Jackson. A new mother, cancer survivor, fashionista, Grammy winner and, the ultimate sign of fame, frequent subject of tabloid The National Enquirer. Tickets range from $125 to $35. Showtime 8 p.m.

Sunday, October 19

Underoath at The National

Do they solemnly sweat to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about playing metalcore for Jesus? Straight outta Tampa, headed to heaven. Saosin, Devil Wears Prada and POS are also on the bill. Tickets are $20 in advance, $23 at the door. Showtime 7 p.m.

Monday, October 20

Kid Theodore at The Triple

These young indie-popsters each play many instruments and during a show they switch-off more than a Mormon polygamist does wives. Call (804) 359-7777 for ticket information. Showtime 10 p.m.

Tuesday, October 21

Kentucky Nightmare at The Triple

Their name might suggest a bourbon hangover, but they are much too earnest and cheerful for all that. They play some of that their 94 proof indie pop, in case you were wondering. Six (probably a reference to the number of beers in a cardboard carrier found in grocery stores) opens the show. Call (804) 359-7777 for ticket information. 10 p.m.
